Convergent Communications Inc (CCI) was founded in 2006 to focus on the growing need to establish vendor-independent communication protocol standards supportive of railway signaling systems. We are a privately owned corporation established in Colorado.

CCI provides products, services, and consulting to rail transportation providers and suppliers. Our founding officers, board advisors, and equity partners represent decades of committment, innovation, and leadership in the rail transportation industry. They, along with a growing team of software engineers, safety experts, and application engineers, offer the following:

• Product development and innovation. Whether developing new protocol conversion solutions for our Communications Network Adapter (CNA) product, building game-changing PTC solutions with our patent pending Wirefly technology, or providing custom hardware and software solutions, CCI is continuously finding better and more effective ways to meet our customers's needs.

• Positive Train Control.

  • CCI collaborates with the Interoperable Train Control (ITC) Messaging Workgroup to specify interoperable communication protocols that support the PTC messaging network. We developed the industry standard Class D Verification Suite (CDVS) to test product compliance with the Class D messaging protocol. Our efforts working with PTC product suppliers is improving the quality of PTC deployments.

  • CCI supports the ITC Wayside Workgroup through the development of test tools and simulators. We developed the industry standard WIU Test Tool (WTT) and work with WIU vendors to eliminate product variance with respect to required WIU functions and behaviors. We also develop simulation tools to assist with PTC system design and testing. In short, CCI is helping lead the charge toward a successful implementation of this government mandated safety system.

• Application engineering. CCI provides survey, design, management, and engineering services for a variety of communication installation, upgrade, and expansion projects.

• Industry participation. CCI actively participates in the Association of American Railroads (AAR) industry committee workshops and task force initiatives to promote the continued use and development of standardized protocols.

• Support and maintenance for existing signaling networks. CCI actively supports field code networks deployed across North America and provides continued operations support to our customers for their installed Safetran Systems' suite of office products (Packet Switch, ASERVER, WCCMAINT, and OCG Server).
